Best printer for home and school
In everyday life, there are a million situations when a printer (or better, together with a scanner and a copier) is needed at home, and urgently. This applies not only to families where schoolchildren and students grow up but especially for them.
Brother HL-1202R
Inexpensive b/W laser gun for home use. It promises to print up to 9,000 pages per month with a quality of up to 2400×600 dpi.
It has only one black cartridge, which you can easily fill yourself. However, buying a new cartridge every time (not the original, but compatible), you will also not be expensive.
But the print speed is low as for a laser printer; only 20 pages/min. Unfortunately, this disadvantage is inherent in all inexpensive laser printers due to the small amount of RAM.
This printer can print not only on A4 sheets of paper but also on envelopes and cardboard.
The dimensions of the device itself are 34×24×19 cm, and the weight is 4.6 kg.
In addition to the relatively low price, the manufacturer also gives a 3-year warranty. So, if you want to print cheap, monochrome, and slowly, this is your choice.
HP Ink Tank 115
This is a color inkjet printer that supports not only Windows but also Linux and Mac. The maximum print quality that this beautiful promise is 1200×1200 dpi. It can print on regular A4 sheets, as well as on envelopes, plastic cards, HP-branded brochure paper, and photo paper. The print speed is low; 5 pages/min for color printing and 8 pages/min for b/W. It promises to consistently print up to 1000 pages per month.
This model differs from other inkjet printers by its relatively low cost per page. First, the ink tanks are enlarged, which allows you to print up to 8000 color pages and up to 6000 b/W. Secondly, with the help of original ink, this printer can be refilled at home (and using non-original ones, by the way, deprives you of a 1-year warranty from the manufacturer). The printer is equipped with a continuous ink supply system (CISS), which protects the mechanism from ink spillage and allows the user to easily and safely replenish the ink supply on their own.
Canon Pixma MG3640S
This is an inkjet color MFP, the main highlight of which is the ability to print over Wi-Fi, that is, even from your phone. All you need to do is install a special app.
High print quality; 1200×4800 dpi, multiplied by a low speed: 9.9 pages/min; for b/W and 5.7 pages/min; for color, and the impossibility of self-refilling (original cartridges are included) indicates that this MFP is a good solution for those who need to print rarely, occasionally, but beautifully and efficiently. In principle, if you buy it only for personal and family needs, as a universal device, this MFP is an excellent choice in terms of price/quality.
When purchasing, the original cartridges are included (one black and one color). In the future, you can purchase XL version cartridges for 600/400 pages of b/W and color, respectively, both original and compatible. Folk craftsmen, of course, will teach you how to fill these cartridges with an insulin syringe, but the editorial Board of gg recommends that you do not rush to get down to business without proper skills.
You can print on paper, cardboard, envelopes, and original Canon photo paper. You can print from both sides at the same time since the gadget supports duplex printing mode and this is another of its strengths.
